You can listen to the AM Radio

So last night, we’re driving to this play at my Mothers’ school, and there’s a huge back-up on the Sagticoast Parkway, so my Mom turns on 1010 WINS.  It says nothing about the accident which was blocking everything, but says “the usual stuff”…. “Exit 63, there’s a block-up, a Tractor-Trailer over-turned…  Cross Island Parkway to Whitestone Bridge there’s an accident, where two cars collided, block-ups for three miles…”.  A few miles down the road (about three or four minutes have gone by), and she starts flipping the stations, and suddenly there’s music playing.  I look down at the screen to see what Frequency the music is playing from.  1560.  “Hey, Mom!  It’s Radio Disney.”, I say in surprise, because I had forgotten about the station completely, since I no longer listen to the music on there. “It sounds so, canned…”, I say, about a minute later.  My Mom looks at me confused quickly, before turning her attention back to the road, “What do you mean  by that?”  Canned is a radio term used for muffled or “shut-in”.  We keep fliiping stations, until we hear this very gargily swing music, which we ended up keeping on, resulting in me thinking about Quasars, and the AM radio frequencies…
