Seven Years ago (a 9-11 poem)

•Thursday, September 11, 2008 • Leave a Comment

Seven years ago, two towers stood mighty above the ground.

Seven years ago, four planes set out on a path of destruction.

Seven years ago, people died, many more people than would usually.

Seven years ago was a fateful day where millions died a tradgic death.

A tradgic death no one should ever suffer

Seven years ago, this country stood closer together, closer together than ever before.

Nine Eleven, made me be grateful for those whom I have in my life currently because some day they won’t be there.

Seven years ago I was sitting in my Social Studies class I was in seventh grade.  My teacher came in crying, adn the principle came over the PA.  People came in and confiscated the Televisions, and we continued class.  My Mother came to pick me up early from school that day, she drove home crying the whole way.

Seven years ago is a tragic day which I will always remember.

I wish all who’s families died this terrible fate happiness, and feel a bit of sadness for those who have died.

I am from New York, from Long Island, and will always remember 9-11 and the sight of the first tower falling at 9:30 AM.

It was a terrible day, and although this poem has lost it’s poetic aspects, it still has a strong message:

“We will never forget.”   and still yet another one this one is a song which most of you may know:

On a lighter note today,  my Psychology class this morning was interesting when “Bodies” the Drowning Pool song made an entrance with the sound of my laptop dropping.

Time Travel and back just before Dinner

•Wednesday, October 1, 2008 • Leave a Comment

So this past week, with the Elections coming up I’ve taken a sort of “Time Travel” back to a great year called 2004.  Now in this year, I was in Ninth Grade (yes I’m young, VERY young, you can just imagine how old I am, if I was in tenth grade at the time of elections), at the time of New Year’s Eve, and New Year’s Day. The other day, as I was watching something on youtube, a making of a video (not only am I VERY young, but I have WAY TOO much time on my hands!!!!!), it had reminded me of another point in time, another song, about a boy and a crow (which by the way is all i could remember).  Over this past weekend however, I had just managed to pull the name of that very same song out of thin air, and was surprised at myself for doing so.  This was Saturday, now since then who sings it, and more words to it than just what I had managed to come up with in the past half hour or so, “the ocean breathes Salty, won’t you carry it in, in your mouth, in your heart, in your soul.” have been bothering me until a Professor of mine, had been talking to me about the elections, and the primary (which baffles me completely that there isn’t a secondary if there’s a primary…) none of which I really understand… obviously … I brought Bush into tis whole thing, which made me think about why we actually did elect him, and why he’s such a terrible President.  Did he just want to get into Office to declare war or Iraq?  Or were we already in WAR with IRAQ, and I just didn’t know it?  All things to think about. I guess…  Anyway back to the song, I had mentioned the John Steinbeck  novel, “…Of Mice and Men” to my Professor, and was talking about sad events, leading into the 2004 Elections, which I didn’t understand much more then, than I do now, as an Adult.  the elections had made me think back to it being one of those, “Where were you on Election day of 2004?” Well to answer that question, I was at the Mall that day with my friend Dana, whom I am currently still friends with.  I had actually been talking to her just 30 minutes past, since it is now 5:32pm now.  Anyway we bought a pair of “goth” pants, which actually still fit me, my first pair of what I called, ‘goth pants”, after I stretched out the bottoms enough that the draw string at the bottom broke, and the bottoms just barely covered my shoes.  A lot of great things happened in 2004, 2004 I think has the best songs ever made in the 2000’s, and most of them i have either long forgotten by now, in which case how can I even remember that I had forgotten them in the first place, which is a complete paradox, which I had also started to learn how to deeply confuse people deep in thought by coming up to them, and asking them a paradox.   Confusing isn’t it.  And the some of the rest of that part of the rest of the music from 2004, I still listen to.  Some of it is too old to even remember thinking about, or even too old to remember the name of, or who sings it, much like, “Ocean Breathes Salty” the Modest Mouse song that i was referring earlier to in this post, now it is time for me to go, because like the title says, “just before dinner”.  I have to go eat dinner.  Tonight it is… hold on a second while I get the website open…

…. Nothing… Oh great just kidding, it’s Angel Hair Spaghetti, I heard someone say it earlier, when I asked.

Enjoy dinner, all of you Time Travelers out there, hey and a tip of advice, for tose about to change the course of History, “SAVE ME SOME SPAGHETTI!”  Thank You!

Hello everyone not reading this:

So once again, I haven’t any time to write in here, but want to still keep this going so I’m writing a short nothing post just to keep you guys updated…

I am currently working Full Time, and taking a night class at a local college, which gives me no time to do anything but work, and participate in scholarly things (such as going to class, studying for tests, and doing Homework, the usual).  This has gotten  to me so much that last week, for two nights straight I was having dreams that my co-workers were chasing me ith Chainsaws, adn my boss came after me with a bat.  To keep a long story short in lack of time, I’m stressed, and have absoluelty no time whatsoever to do anything else, keep reading, and commenting guys.

Thanks,

Dear readers,

Over the course of the next few days, there will probably be a lot of “new”posts, which are actually “old” posts, which haven’t gotten posted yet. I’m sorry if the language of paradox confuses you, but I often speak in it a lot. Anyway, these posts, are either from this notebook that I have with a biligilion miscellaneous things in it, or old drafts which I have never yet had the time to post. Here’s how one may tell the difference:

1.) there are only 9 posts, which are drafts

2.) Drafts are unfinished, and I probably won’t finish, due to lack of remembering where I probably wasn’t going with each individual post.

3.) They are really random, and will say stuff probably from the begining of the start of this blog, such as, “You know one of those days, where you have nothing to do, when there’s no one to hang out with, when it’s snowing wso hard, you want to go outside, bt don’t want to because it’s SO COLD?”* And yeah pretty much you guys get the hint…

And in addition, I have something which I had been thinking about earlier at work.

Thre Good reasons to read thios blog:

1.) it’s funny to read

2.) it’s mine

3.) “I like big stats, and I can not lie, you other brother can’t deny, when my dashboard overflows…” lol

4.) Yo’ve already learned how to hack into your school’s Smart Board System, and now everyone’s reading this, so tell everyone to read aw3sumpunk’s blog on wordpress.com.

*Quote taken from actual draft post titled, “Such A Lonely Day”.

Runescape HD

•Friday, July 4, 2008 • Leave a Comment

You know how everything now is “going HD”? Well everything is, and it’s pretty cool, if one has the equipment to suffice. (that’s not the right word… ummm…) Everything is going digital now too, so much that the past few days I’m watching TV, up in my bedroom, and as I flip around through the channels, I only get two news chanels and a couple of cartoon channels, and some music channels. Anyway, some games have made the change too, such as, “Runescape: The Massive Multi Player, Online Game”. If you, the reader, aren’t famialar with the game, it is an MMORPG, where you are in a medieval world, with castles and knights, and mythical creatures, you walk around this world, and you an fight stuff, to get gold peices (the currency on this particaular game), and do stuff, to advance through level. Excuse me, I’m not very good at explaining stuff.

Anyway, I go on last night and I notice that the website has changed. Okay so then I click, “Play Existing User” which the button has also changed,. I think to myself, “wow this looks cool”. From there, I click High Detail, which is no longer on the left side, with a skeleton holding the sign, it;’s a High Def, house. After clicking that, it wouldn’t let me log in, because my Membership has expired, which sucks!!!!… AFter I renew my Membership, and log on again, it was so awesome!!!! Instead of stupid 2-D stuff, Evrything 3-D and amazingly awesome, but CPU intensive. The sidewalks looked real, and other characters had shadows, I could even see the sunset!! :) I wish I had a screenshot of my first Runescape Sunset to show all of my readers, but it was awesome, I guess that you’ll just have to take my words for it.

Dear readers:

This picture is touching, ad moving, but sad at the same time,  I found it on a website not of my own creation.  I found it to be a patriotic message of what the wars ( one is a US resident ), also symbolic in a touching way.  Here are two patriotic pictures to remind you of our independence.  Enjoy!

Proppian Fairy Tale Generator

•Sunday, June 15, 2008 • Leave a Comment

It is said in the place where I live the soil is made of our people.  People who toiled, sweat, cried, and screamed all bled into the ground and made us who we are today.

My father warned me never to enter the woods alone.

That sweltering afternoon day I opened the trunk my grandmother forbade me to open.  Inside were a pair of leather bottomed shoes, a cap, and an empty canvas bag.

The man smelled my skin and laughed. “You smell like fresh meat,” he said.  “You smell like you expect to be killed and eaten alive.  What kind of boy would run around this fog like that?”

“What weighs you down will make you drown,” he said with a loud crescent shaped grin.  I believed him.  I may have been a fool but with my head thrown asunder by the crashing tides of water I took off my shoes and bag and threw them across the stream on the other bank.

Under my feet I felt the rhythm of aches and sighs breathe with each step I took.  I felt like I was walking on quicksand.  And indeed, when I tried to move my feet I could not feel my toes but only the inability to move them on the surface of palpable danger.  When I turned to ask for his help he only laughed.  Then I began to think it was he who was making my feet turn to stone.

Inside my head lived a frightened little boy who nibbled at his nails whenever a strange man glanced at him.  I could not leave that fright alone.

From the mountainside I watched a giant crane fly down beside me and place two of its feathers onto my feet for flight.

“Let me go to find what I seek,” I said.

I never strayed too far from home because the thought of father returning home always came back to me.  But when air blew away the last remnant of his scent I knew he would not return.  So I set out, again, watching my mother’s stomach sink into the floor.  I did not turn my head as I heard the people pull her into the ground.

When I walked far enough I saw my father’s body lying in the field of haze.  In the side of his neck he wore a needle five inches long and three hairs thick.  But before the final breaths left his throat he said, “Promise me, promise that you will take my bones and find them a good place to rest.”  I promised this as his eyes shut for their last slumber.

After I took the needle from its place, I pryed my father’s bones from the floor and put them in my satchel.

The mists grew heavy.  When I stretched my arm out I could not see past my hand, but it did not matter.  When I closed my eyes my feet moved along with the rhythm of the mountain and its soils. Faster and faster I could almost feel myself fly.

A foreigner stopped me on my rise toward the mountaintop.  He had one eye and loose skin that folded around his body like paper cloth.  Laid before him was a set of colored tablets and sticks.  “Stay for a game,” he said to me.  “After you win your game with me I’ll let you go on your way.”

The blade struck me against my face and left a blood spot in the shape of a star.

I saw the familiar clearing with my father’s chopping block and the axe he used for splitting wood on the ground beside it.  Home.  I ran through the trees, the wind in my ears, my breath leaving my throat in heavy huffs, my feet slapping the earth beneath the trees of these woods, these woods that had stood between myself and my home for so long.

In my path stood a young pear tree, that, on first appearance looked wretched and covered with soil.  But the second time I looked at it the sapling had already blossomed into a maturity.  It grew pears the size of my mother’s hands.  It waved to me with its branches, beckoning me towards the sweet fruit.  As I attempted to climb the three, the leaves enclosed me and stung my skin with nectar.

I called out,”Help, please, help!”  The white crane grazed the skin of my pursuer and held my shirt between its beak.

“If you are my son then where are your father’s leather bottomed shoes and ring?”

Everyone then stared through the guise of the false man beside me.  The person, who acted as a substitute for my accomplishments, began to bite his nails in a rampant manner.

The needle from my tongue flung towards the lying man and struck him in the heart.  It gave him poison at the place where it would hurt the most, and soon the man became a limp purple figure of stone.

Interface Amplifier, and memories of school

•Friday, June 13, 2008 • Leave a Comment

This morining, I woke up after having a dream about a rumor spread about my best-friend from PSC, and I, I started thinking back about the good times at school, and some of the struggles that I’ve faced. One problem, which I have said to many people, that i will never take the job of ever again, “Tech Advisor” of the radio station. The problem: a Symetrix 303 Bi-Directional Interface Amplifier.  What’s that you ask?  That is a balanced to unbalanced and vice versa very expensive and hard to fix piece of equipment connecting two  input sources for a radio station, with the basic non-commercial Auidovox sliders soundboard.  In other words, a stupid little blue box under the computer.  The problem with it, which was hypothesized first, then actually discovered and believed by many involved with this annoying broken part, many months after the initial “break”.  About a week before 5he end of the semester, I discovered after further breaking it (…opppssss….) that it wasn’t actually the whole thing that was broken just the electricity transfer, after switching out the Transformer Cords, and using a not broken one.  Electrical ZZZZZ… noise.  POP.  Sizzle.  I look down. “OH MY GOD! I just fixed it!”

My “date” with night

•Thursday, June 12, 2008 • Leave a Comment

Last night, one of my friends from the college I go to came down or a visit.  A visit which we had been planning for about threee weeks now.  I thought that he wasn’t actually going to go through with it when he first said, “Hey, [left out name for personal privacy] do you want to hang out?”  My reaction naturally is, “Yeah, [left out name for protection reasons].”

So weeks went by, and we were planning out how and where, and when he was going to get here.  By time we finally figured out that he was going to take the train in, my mother had pretty much been “breathing down my neck” on the whole thing, and had insisted on us “dating”.  No matter how many times, I had tried to get it across that “MA, WE’RE NOT DATING!!! WE’RE JUST REALLY GOOD FRIENDS!!!!”, she didn’t seem to understand.  And so what was supossed to be a quick walk around the town I live in, and maybe hit a couple of shops, turned into Dinner, (which was supossed to be dinner and a movie).  It turend out that my Mom drov us all over creation, just to figure out that we were going to hang out at the mall.  I was so embarrassed that i couldn’t really look at him at all.  He insited a cople of night ago on paying for Dinner, and so we had T.G.I. Fridays in the mall.  (omg, how embarrassing…)  Even worseI had this terrible headache, and he kept taklking to me… I felt so bad, but still the mall, a “date’ with my FRIEND!  Doesn’t that make you say wtf?

Higglytown Hereos in Real- Life

•Tuesday, June 10, 2008 • Leave a Comment

I work asa Park Attendant, in a place where little kids most often fall and get hurt. So the other day I was thinking about this show that my little sister used to watch, “Higglytown Heroes”. “I’m a Higglytown Hero, brave and true, I help the town with the thing I do…”, are just some of the words to the sung speech of the “hero” of Higglytown, which were going through my head the whole rest of the day, especially when someone fell down and got hurt. I’m a First- Aid person, I’ll clean up your scrapes and bruises, if you work real hard just like me, you won’t be stuck making Minimum Wage Burger Flipping…

You can listen to the AM Radio

•Saturday, June 7, 2008 • Leave a Comment

So last night, we’re driving to this play at my Mothers’ school, and there’s a huge back-up on the Sagticoast Parkway, so my Mom turns on 1010 WINS.  It says nothing about the accident which was blocking everything, but says “the usual stuff”…. “Exit 63, there’s a block-up, a Tractor-Trailer over-turned…  Cross Island Parkway to Whitestone Bridge there’s an accident, where two cars collided, block-ups for three miles…”.  A few miles down the road (about three or four minutes have gone by), and she starts flipping the stations, and suddenly there’s music playing.  I look down at the screen to see what Frequency the music is playing from.  1560.  “Hey, Mom!  It’s Radio Disney.”, I say in surprise, because I had forgotten about the station completely, since I no longer listen to the music on there. “It sounds so, canned…”, I say, about a minute later.  My Mom looks at me confused quickly, before turning her attention back to the road, “What do you mean  by that?”  Canned is a radio term used for muffled or “shut-in”.  We keep fliiping stations, until we hear this very gargily swing music, which we ended up keeping on, resulting in me thinking about Quasars, and the AM radio frequencies…

The evil Release Forms, and their plan to destroy my grades, life, and transcirpt

•Saturday, May 17, 2008 • Leave a Comment

The college I go to, has a strong privacy policy, a privacy policy that my parents hate.  Flashback to first semester, so I get my grades, I knew that I was probably going to fail Biology 1, which I did.  So my Mom sees my grades, keep in mind that I was a freshmen in college who had just finished her first semester in college, and says angrily, “I knew you couldn’t complete thirteen credits!  Your grades are horrible, you need help!  Slacker, your signing the releases or you’re not going back to that place you call paradise.”.  I look at her and roll my eyes.  SHe looks back at me, and says, “I saw that, COME HERE NOW!”  [wow, this is a great way to take out old unsettled anxiety against my parents] So I come overe there, and she’s on the schools’ website and she’s going through the Current Student’s Link, to get to IQ Web to check my grades.  and more later… I have to go to work now…

Santa lives in my bathtub

•Tuesday, May 13, 2008 • Leave a Comment

A certain little three year old comes running out of , Sthe bathtub covered in bubble-bath bubbles soaking wet, and shivering.  “Look, Sammie, I’m Holly!”  She says cheerfully as she comes over to me soaking wet, and dripping bubbles everywhere last night when I’m typing a post.  The bubbles and water have now left a trail of the smallest running baby footprints, and soaking wet baby marks (that’s what she calls it when she gets out of the bath and rips water everywhere), between the computer and the bathroom (a total of like ten feet), all leading to a soaking wet naked bubbly baby girl, dressed in bubble cuffs around her wrists, and a big bubble beard and mustache, with a bubble scarf too.  My sister calls the Holiday Barbie doll that she took from my Mom,Holly, and likes to “dress up” like her too.  It’s the sweetest thing, but she makes a mess everywhere, and eventually gets me soaking wet with a big hug around the leg, and if I’m sitting down, she climbs right up on my lap and gives me a hug and a kiss.  So anyway last night when she did this, I decoded to coax her to go back into the bath, and I voluntarily got covered in bubbles as I grabbed up a handful of bubble-bath bubble and made a holiday Santa hat out of it, which in turn caused her to look at herself in her little mirror on the bathtub wall, and say once again that she wasn’t herself but this time she said, “Sammie, look, I’m Snata Claus.”  (By the way, not a spelling mistake, just the way she pronounces Santa.)  So two nights ago I found Santa Claus in the bathtub.

been wondering something… comments helpful!

So I go to look through my posts, becuase I go back and read my own sstuff occasionally.  I know I’m weird.  So anyway, I go to look through my posts, and under “related posts” my post titled, “Mr. Shoe Comebcak” pops up, and so I click on it, I read it and see that there are some very clear spelling and grammar errors, some of which I just left alone and didn’t bother with figuring that no one will read it anyway.  I go back to my dashboard, and look at my stats, and it says that there’s a veiw for today.  You’ll never guess what post either, “Mr. Shoe Comeback”!  So I now ask myself, did it appear becuase I clicked on it?  I thought that it won’t count my click.  Or was someone else onthere the same time that I was?  Something to think about I guess.  Answer if you know please.
